Take Back the Night is a candlelight vigil being held for the victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual violence. This year on Monday, October 7th from 7:00 PM - 7:30 PM we will have booths open filled with on-campus resources available for people who might face these issues in their lives. From 7:30 PM - 8:00 PM there will be a speaker and then the candlelight vigil will begin. This is a safe space and ceremony for the people who have faced domestic and sexual violence, and their allies.
Sigma Psi Zeta Sorority Inc. will be handing out purple ribbons at the Union in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. They also will be collecting entries for their shadow box which will be donated to the organization, Voices of Hope, at Take Back the Night. Come to their Union booth and answer the question, "What does Hope mean to you?" and grab a purple ribbon. They will be at the booth from October 2nd - October 4th and October 16th and 17th from 11 AM to 1 PM.
